You are a member of our P&C just by being a parent, carer, or community member, and we would love you to participate in any way you can.

What is a P&C?

A Parents and Citizens’ Association (P&C) is a group of community-minded volunteers who help the school by:

What does the Palmerston P&C do?

The Palmerston P&C runs a range of events, activities and services as well as fundraising to support the school. Our committee helps parents and citizens engage with the school. We hold two meetings each term, where you can hear from the school executive and community about current issues at our school.

Services and Programs

The P&C runs the second-hand uniform shop. You can buy good quality second hand uniforms on the My School Connect app (https://myschoolconnect.com.au/) or in person by appointment (email: pdpspandc@gmail.com). Donations are welcome! The uniform shop is run by volunteers and the proceeds all go to the P&C.
Location: The uniform shop is in the entrance to the school hall, opposite the canteen.

Lost property is kept in the cage at the back of the administrative building (after school care lost property is in the school hall). Any unlabelled items with the school logo are donated to the second-hand uniform shop on a fortnightly basis. Anything in the cage at the end of each term is donated to the uniform pool or charity.

We also manage the Scholastic Book Club. Brochures are sent home twice each term and 15% of every purchase goes to ‘Scholastic Rewards’, which we use to buy books for the school. You can order online here: https://mybookclubs.scholastic.com.au/parent.aspx

What events are happening in 2024?

We run events to benefit the school community and to raise funds to benefit all Palmerston Primary kids.

The big event in 2024 was the school fete held on 23 March, which raised funds to help purchase a new PA system for the school.

We are holding two discos this year – in term 2, on 17 May and term 4, on 8 November 2024.

We will hold a BBQ & Cake Stall fundraiser on ACT Election Day, 19 October – please reach out if you can help.

We also hold social events for parents and carers, we are planning a Bingo Night for Palmerston Primary grown-ups – keep an eye out for more details!

Meetings

We hold two meetings each term with online and in person options. These meetings are a great opportunity to find out what is happening in the school and provide our community with an opportunity to have their say. Please come along and join in the discussions. We promise you won’t be ‘volunteered’ for something (unless you want to!) The meeting dates for the rest of this year are:

Fundraising
